David Healy sends out 'high standards' reminder after 'disappointing day' for Linfield

David Healy once again reminded his players of the "high standards" and demands at Linfield.

The runaway leaders slipped to a rare league defeat on Saturday with Healy dubbing it a "disappointing day" as his side failed to hit those exacting standards.

The Blues missed the chance to take another big step towards the league title following the 2-0 defeat to Coleraine, but Healy said it's now all about how they react when they play Crusaders in their next game.

"We set high standards here and that's the requirements I try and set from top to bottom at this football club," he said.

"It's a tough place to play and manage, the players know that and if they don't they find it out very quickly.

"My responsibility now is to react and to react positively. The players are disappointed and naturally I'm disappointed for them.

"The most important thing is to react in your next game and that match against Crusaders becomes our most important game.

"We never looked likely today, we didn't really cause much of a threat apart from that four or five minute spell before half-time when we put a few balls in and probably should have done better.

"Overall Coleraine were better, they were better in possession certainly. Without being critical of the players the effort was there but I thought we lacked a bit of a spark.

"As a manager I'll assess my own decisions from the game and assess what we talked about in the lead up to the game.

"I've always taken responsibility myself. Somewhere this week I got something wrong, what it is hopefully I can work it out so that we can try and put it right when we play Crusaders in just over 10 days time."
