Happened in the southbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 197
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A vehicle fire and a crash on of Interstate 95 in Brevard County temporarily closed the southbound lanes on Sunday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 4:41 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 197. All southbound lanes were closed for a time, but two of the inside lanes reopened around 6 p.m.
According to the FHP, a Mini Cooper was engulfed in flames on the shoulder of the interstate when a semitruck pulled over to assist with the fire.
Another vehicle was unable to stop in time and crashed into the semitruck, troopers said.
