A crash on Monday evening took out part of a power pole, resulting in an outage for 1,708 Rocky Mountain customers in Bonneville and Bingham counties.
Witnesses tell EastIdahoNews.com that a car crashed into the pole on U.S. 91 in the Shelley area, taking out the lower portion of the pole. The car came to rest near railroad tracks.
Motorists should avoid the area.
There is no word on when power will be restored.
