Court Makes ‘Extraordinary’ Late Night Demands in Trump Mar-a-Lago Case

A DC Circuit Appeals Court set an “unprecedented” schedule Tuesday night surrounding Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago classified documents case, requiring answers from Trump attorneys by midnight and a reply from The Department of Justice just hours later, at 6:00 a.m.

The move concerns a request from Jack Smith, the special counsel appointed by the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate Donald Trump’s potential mishandling of classified documents, to have Trump attorney Evan Corcoran appear before a grand jury.

Smith found “compelling preliminary evidence” that the former president knowingly misled his own legal team about holding onto the records after leaving office, sources told ABC News on Tuesday.
