Coronation Street fans reckon they've pieced together the mystery surrounding Alina Pop.
Alina, played by Ruxandra Porojnicu, first graced the cobbles in 2019 and quickly stirred up drama. In 2020, she caused a rift between Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and his long-term partner Fiz (Jennie Mcalpine).
The chemistry was instant between her and Tyrone, leading him to end his nine-year relationship with Fiz. However, when Alina fell pregnant, Tyrone's pyromaniac daughter Hope (Isabella Flanagan) took a dislike to her father's new love interest.
Determined to break them up, Hope started a fire in the flat which tragically resulted in Alina losing her baby. Alina eventually left the street - and despite initially telling Tyrone she was pregnant, she later told him she had got her dates mixed up.
But in her final scene, viewers saw her at the airport cradling her growing baby bump. Fast forward to 2024, Alina made a dramatic return to Weatherfield with a shocking revelation for Tyrone, reports Leicestershire Live.
She came back to testify against the leader of the human trafficking group that had previously targeted her. After running into Tyrone, she disclosed that she was indeed pregnant and Tyrone is the father of her son, Dorin.
While back on the cobbles, she also dropped the bombshell on Tyrone that he is the father of her baby son, Dorin, whom he later met.
Alina, who had been receiving threatening messages dissuading her from giving testimony, fled the UK, entrusting Dorin to the care of Tyrone and Fiz. She returned later when it was deemed safe to take Dorin back to Romania.
However, this week's Coronation Street plot twist saw Tyrone dumbfounded as he found Dorin at home after a visit to the Rovers. Fiz informed him that Alina's house suffered flooding and sent Dorin back with a friend.
Fiz has taken on the responsibility of caring for Dorin until Alina sorts out her situation, much to Tyrone's delight. Yet, viewers are speculating about darker undercurrents, suspecting that the flood might be a cover for something more ominous befalling Alina.
Social media has been abuzz with fan theories on a Corrie Facebook group. One viewer joyfully remarked on Dorin's return, commenting: "So happy Dorin is back, he's adorable."
The comment threads have amassed corrie enthusiasts sharing their bleak predictions. Another theorised: "I think Alina is lying and something bad has happened that's why she's given Tyrone Dorin."
Speculative whispers of trafficking rings and potential harm to Alina have also surfaced in the conversation. "I have a bad feeling. Maybe it's something to do with the traffickers?" queried one worried fan, while another chillingly asked: "Have they killed her?" Echoing the sentiment, another added: "I said the same."
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
