Coronation Street welcomed a fresh face on Monday night as Danielle, the wife of Theo Silverton, made her first appearance.
Fans will remember that scaffolder Theo, portrayed by James Cartwright, joined the ITV soap last month and quickly developed a connection with Todd Grimshaw.
Despite insisting he isn't gay and asking Todd to back off, Todd was left puzzled when he discovered that the man he had been messaging on a dating app was none other than Theo. In scenes from last week, Theo confessed his attraction to Todd, leading to a passionate kiss and an intimate afternoon together.
However, Theo, who admitted his life is complicated, later left Todd devastated by insisting their encounter was a one-time thing.
In Monday's episode, Todd was shocked when Theo arrived at Shuttleworths to plan a funeral for his mother-in-law with his wife Danielle.
Theo tried to clarify his family situation, revealing he had been married for 19 years but had questioned his sexuality since his teenage years. The scaffolder confessed he had 'never had the guts' and 'never done this before', pleading with Todd not to reveal anything to his wife.
Soap fans immediately recognised Danielle, played by actress Natalie Anderson. Natalie, 43, is best known for her role as Alicia Metcalfe in Emmerdale from 2010 to 2015, reports Leicestershire Live.
Natalie, also known previously for her roles as Nurse Stella Davenport in The Royal and Lexi Calder in Hollyoaks, has joined the cast of Coronation Street as Danielle.
Beyond the soap world, Natalie showcased her talents in Netflix's acclaimed series Fool Me Once as Claire Walker alongside big names such as Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, and Joanna Lumley.
She also ventured into presenting, taking on roles at This Morning and Loose Women from 2015 until 2021.
Natalie's move to Weatherfield has certainly got viewers talking, with many eager to see what she'll bring to the iconic cobbles.
One person said: "Welcome to the cobbles, Natalie! #Corrie", a different account wrote: "Looking forward to natalie anderson formally alicia #emmerdale joining #corrie" while another added: "A great asset to the show."
Elsewhere, a different soap watcher commented: "Love this actress. So bring it on", another put: "She’s a great actress" while a different viewer added: "Brilliant be nice to see her again xxxx."
