Conor McGregor heartbroken as he announces death of 'cool' uncle

Conor McGregor has shared his sorrow on social media following the passing of his uncle Johnny.

The MMA icon paid homage to his late uncle, describing him as 'cool as it gets' while posting several photographs of John 'Johnny' Moore.

On Instagram, McGregor uploaded a throwback picture with his uncle from a 2018 trip to Funderland, captioning it: "RIP Uncle Johnny. Cool as it gets. Kru John Moore, RIP my fighting uncle."

John, brother to McGregor's mother Margaret, died peacefully on New Year's Day at Our Lady's Hospice in Harold's Cross.

Funeral Prayers are set for Nichols Funeral Chapel on Monday, 6 January, with the burial to follow at Fingal Cemetery.

Mourning his loss are John's children Sueann, Jonathan, Robyn, and Ódhran; his grandchildren Leon and Rowan; his sisters Mary, Margaret, Catherine, and Samantha; and his brothers Christy, Joe, and Jake, reports Dublin Live.
