Christmas Box Angel Candlelight Vigil remembers those who have lost a child

IDAHO FALLS – The annual celebration of Children’s Day worldwide is Dec. 6. It is also the day chosen for the annual Candlelight Vigil held at Christmas Box Angels throughout the world.

The gathering is to remember and celebrate the lives of deceased children. It is an opportunity to meet together and offer support, love, and reassurance to those who share in one of life’s greatest tragedies.

The tradition of the Christmas Box Angel came about because of the book The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans.

As part of the vigil, participants can place a flower at the base of the angel and say the names of those they have lost.

All are invited to attend and participate in the vigil. The event will be held at Fielding Memorial Cemetery on South Yellowstone Boulvard in Idaho Falls between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday.
