Bus damaged and car 'rammed' in two Templepatrick hit and runs involving same vehicle

A car was "rammed" and a bus damaged by the same vehicle in two separate hit and runs in Templepatrick yesterday evening.

Police are appealing for information following the the two incidents which took place in the Co Antrim town on Saturday, February 1.

The first incident took place at around 6.40pm when a bus travelling along the Ballyrobin Road was clipped by a car travelling in the opposite direction, with the car failing to stop after this.

The second incident took place close to the Kilmakee Roundabout at around 8.45pm when the same car, which has been described as a blue estate type car, collided with a Skoda and then alleged reversed into the vehicle twice before driving off in the direction of Templepatrick.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information following two reports of hit and run collisions in Templepatrick yesterday evening, Saturday February 1.

"At approximately 6.40pm a bus was travelling along the Ballyrobin Road, when a car travelling in the opposite direction clipped the front of the bus, causing damage to the front of the vehicle. The driver of the car failed to stop.

"A short time later, at approximately 8.45pm two men were travelling in a Skoda on the nearby Kilmakee Roundabout when the same car, described the vehicle as blue and estate type car, collided with them. The suspect vehicle turned around and reversed back into the Skoda twice before making off towards Templepatrick.

"Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either collision or anyone with dash-cam or other footage that could assist with enquiries, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1339 of 01/02/25.

"You can also submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/

"Information can be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. "
