Boyzone's Shane Lynch opens up on heartbreaking five year silence with bandmate Mikey Graham

Boyzones star Shane Lynch has recently shared his experience of reconnecting with fellow bandmate Mikey Graham after half a decade of silence. The 48-year-old Dubliner revealed that he and 52-year-old Mikey had a significant falling out following the band's final performance, leading to years of tension and estrangement.

However, Shane described the turning point during an appearance on Lorraine, where he recounted the emotional moment he extended an olive branch to Mikey. He explained: "Believe it or not, I hadn't spoken to Mikey for quite a few years and then when I saw the documentary - the first draft of it - I couldn't help myself but to call him."

He continued, expressing his admiration for Mikey's contribution to the documentary: "I just told him that he did amazingly and to be honest, he made the documentary for me. I was delighted for him to tell his story and for all the honesty from him it was just incredible and impeccable. It was a very difficult thing for him to do - to actually come and join us on the documentary because we were very unsure if that was going to happen."

Shane concluded with heartfelt praise for Mikey, saying, "To have the completion of all of us was fabulous and he did an amazing job. I'm very proud of him actually," as he reflected on the resolution of their long-standing rift.

Boyzone fans experienced a mix of nostalgia and surprise as three members of the iconic boyband, Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, and Shane Lynch, reunited for the first time in nearly ten years on Monday night. The occasion was the London premiere of the "harrowing, emotional" documentary Boyzone: No Matter What at Camden Town's The Roundhouse, reports the Mirror.

However, Mikey Graham was notably absent from the event.

While Ronan, Shane, and Keith were beaming on the red carpet, Mikey's decision to skip the premiere has left many Boyzone enthusiasts feeling disheartened. The revealing documentary series offers unprecedented footage, including insights from manager Louis Walsh on how he put together one of the world's most successful boybands, the internal strife that ensued, and his controversial management style.

It also explores the profound effect Stephen Gately's untimely death had on the band members.

Although Mikey is featured in the documentary, he opted out of the London event, having previously expressed his preference for a 'quiet life' in rural Ireland, away from the fame that has followed him for years.

Mikey, 49, often dubbed 'The Quiet One' during his stint with Boyzone, has disclosed that he hasn't spoken to his former bandmates since their last performance over five years ago. In a documentary series, Mikey expressed that he wouldn't choose to return to Boyzone or reunite with Ronan, Shane, and Keith if given the opportunity.

In the Sky series, Mikey discusses his decision to step away from the spotlight of being in the band. He revealed that tensions within the group escalated after Ronan and Mikey grew tired of Shane and Keith's partying ways following Stephen's death.

The tension reached its peak during their final tour, with regular arguments among the members, the most severe of which occurred between Keith and Mikey in their dressing room. While neither Keith nor Mickey divulged the details of the altercation in the docuseries, Mikey did mention: "I just wanted to get out and get away from that toxic environment."

Ronan had also mentioned that he hadn't spoken to Mikey in years. Mikey himself acknowledged his desire not to 'waste my future looking back at my past.

' He stated: "I haven't seen anybody since that night [last show]. I wish them all the best, no grudges, no animosity, nothing, however I don't want to go back to how I felt for many years."
