Lisburn, born star of Ru Paul's Drag Race UK, Blu Hydrangea, has paid an emotional tribute to costar The Vivienne, who died suddenly on Sunday.

In a statement today, Monday, January 6, Cheshire Police said officers had been called to an address in Chorlton-by-Backford, near Chester, at 12.22pm on Sunday following reports of a sudden death, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The spokesman added: “Police attended, investigated the circumstances of the death of the 32-year-old man and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Blu Hydrangea, who starred on the first series of the hit BBC Three show alongside The Vivienne described her as "family".

"There are too many words to describe The Vivienne: a class act, a mentor, an absolute superstar—but to me, she was family," she posted on Instagram.

"You have inspired me and my drag from the moment I realised how hard it was going to be to keep up with you on Drag Race!

"Sending love to those close to her and to those who followed and admired her.

"You are unforgettable; I will cherish our memories forever. Thanks for the laughs, Viv x"

The Vivienne is the fifth Drag Race contestant to die and second contestant from Drag Race UK to die in recent years after Series 2 contestant Cherry Valentine died as a result by suicide in 2022.

Also paying tribute was former Alliance Party councillor John Hyland, who was friends with The Vivienne.

The former Ballymena councillor, who quit Northern Irish politics and returned to his native Liverpool last year also took to Instagram to share a touching tribute to the 32 year old.

"Forever my muse. No words can do you, your art or your impact justice," he said.

"Goodnight my incredibly talented, generous and one in a million friend."
