REXBURG — “Onward and upward,” says Brady Gardner, co-owner of Blister’s BBQ regarding the move into their location this month. “We’re ready to provide the same great food and service that our customers have come to expect just at a new location on Main Street that can accommodate way more people than our previous spot.”

The new location of Blister’s BBQ is 26 E Main St. in Rexburg. Many locals will recognize the spot as it was home to Fong’s Restaurant for many decades. It most recently housed the Vietnamese restaurant, Kingdom of Pho. Blister’s operated out of Mother Hibbard’s Country Store for more than 13 years, but is now looking forward to serving the community in this new location.

“We have put in a lot of long hours and late nights getting this new spot ready,” said Doug Webster, co-owner of Blister’s BBQ. “It was a massive effort by our team and families to pu this off. We think it looks great and we’re so excited to be able to seat more people in the restaurant.”

In addition to the menu and service that loyal customers have come to know at Blister’s BBQ, they will also be offering a few new and exciting things. One of the things that they’re most excited about are the chicken wings.

“This new location is going to be awesome when it comes to occupancy and being able to be a little more creative in the kitchen,” said Blake Winters, general manager and co-owner of Blister’s BBQ. “The kitchen here is much bigger and will be great for our team to work in. We’ll be able to handle more customers as well as more catering orders.”

Long time customers who might miss the authentic, hole-in-the-wall feel of the gas station location need not worry, the restaurant has promised that they haven’t lost their identity in this move.

“As we’ve said before, we know who we are and how we’ve got here,” Gardner said. “We’re not going to lose that. The food that they love is going to taste just as good here on Main Street as it did out at the gas station. The pulled pork, the tri-tip, the coleslaw, the loaded fries, all of it!”
