Police have issued a traffic warning ahead of the BetMcLean Cup Final in South Belfast this weekend. The Northern Ireland League Cup Final between Glentoran and Cliftonville will take place at Windsor Park on Sunday, March 9, with kick-off at 3pm.

Road users have been advised by PSNI to anticipate some traffic disruption and plan for potential delays in South Belfast due to the football match. Supporters are advised to allow sufficient travel time for their journey, both before and after the match.

Traffic congestion is likely in the area due to the expected volume of people attending the fixture. Supporters have also been asked, if driving to the match, they park with consideration for local residents and businesses in the wider Donegall Avenue area.

A build-up of traffic will be expected in the area in the vicinity of the stadium both before and after the game. A spokesperson for the PSNI added: "Please be respectful and considerate whilst walking through residential streets convenient to the stadium.

"The areas around the National Stadium are ‘No Street Drinking’ zones under Belfast City Council by-laws."
