A West Belfast community is set to host an event with a main focus around empowering women.
Organised by the Upper Springfield Development Trust, 'The Future is Female' event will take place on May 23 in the Blackmountain Shared Space. Those who have been behind the scenes, say the message surrounding the evening will be one of female strength and helping women to reach their full potential.
It'll be hosted by popular social media star Gerry Lavz, with guest appearances from Sinead Hegarty and Michelle Regazolli Stone, otherwise known as Mrs Makeup.
Speaking to Belfast Live about the idea behind the event, Lauren McCann, Community Development Worker said: "The Future is Female is an exciting event focused on empowering and encouraging women to reach their full potential. Headlined by the globally renowned Sinead Hegarty who is a highly accomplished Irish entrepreneur with over 218k followers on social media. Supporting this event through a live makeup demonstration is the fabulous Michelle Regazolli Stone (Mrs Makeup from Bperfect Cosmetics) who is an Irish celebrity makeup artist and co founder of Mrs Glam; She has won over 13 awards for her work and has a social media following off 180k.
"Michelle will be on stage highlighting all the tips, tricks and providing practical skills but also reinforcing the message of self-love, individuality, and breaking free from societal expectations through makeup.
"Gerry Lavz will be taking the stage to host the event from start to finish; he known on social media for his vibrant personality with a following of 63k. We have planned entertainment, audience interactions, food, a bar & lots of surprises in store for a great night. Each attendee will also receive complimentary bubbly on arrival and a gift bag to take home worth £50.
"This event is crucial to help women build confidence and support one another. Empowering women and girls encourages gender equality, breaks down societal barriers, and inspires future generations to reach their full potential.
