Belfast city centre traffic delays warning due to parades and marches this weekend

Police are warning road users of potential traffic disruption in Belfast city centre this weekend due to two parades and marches.

The two events will take place on Saturday afternoon, April 5. The first will leave from Writer’s Square at 11am and make its way along Donegall Street, Royal Avenue, Donegall Place and Donegall Square North ending at Belfast City Hall. It is expected to finish at around 1pm.

The second will leave from Custom House Square at 2pm taking in the areas of Queen Square, High Street, Bridge Street, Waring Street, Donegal Street, Royal Avenue, Donegall Place and Donegall Square North. It is expected to finish at Belfast City Hall at around 4.30pm.

The PSNI has said police officers will be present to manage traffic and public safety.

A spokesperson added: "To avoid potential delays, please seek an alternative route for your journey where possible during these times."
