A man is in custody after being arrested for assault following reports of an aggressive male at an apartment block in Newtownabbey.
Police were called to the incident on Abbeyville Street shortly after midday today with local residents saying they saw a large number of armed police at a block of flats.
After arriving at the scene officers arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and attempted criminal damage and he currently remains in police custody.

A PSNI spokesperson saidL "Police received a report of an aggressive male at Abbeyville Street shortly after midday on Wednesday 5th February.
"Officers attended and arrested a 28 year old man on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and attempted criminal damage. The man is currently in custody."
