1 year ago 687

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max each have 8GB RAM onboard - that's 2GB more RAM than what the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max came with

Apple has also introduced the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max which feature a new titanium design. Both models feature a new refined brush texture, contoured edges, and the thinnest borders on iPhone. The Pro lineup is built to last, combining the strength of titanium with the toughest back glass in a smartphone and the industry-leading Ceramic Shield on the front. Using an industry-first thermo-mechanical process, the titanium bands encase a new substructure made from 100 percent recycled aluminum, bonding these two metals with incredible strength through solid-state diffusion. The aluminum frame helps with thermal dissipation and allows the back glass to be easily replaced. This new design highlights the Super Retina XDR display with Always-On and ProMotion technologies for an exceptional viewing experience. The available colors include Black Titanium, White Titanium, Blue Titanium, and Natural Titanium.

The all-new Action button replaces the single-function switch used to toggle between ring and silent, offering additional options so users can choose between quickly accessing the camera or flashlight; activating Voice Memos, Focus modes, Translate, and accessibility features like Magnifier; or using Shortcuts for more options. A press-and-hold gesture with fine-tuned haptic feedback and visual cues in the Dynamic Island ensure the new button launches the intended action. They also introduce the StandBy feature which activates when the devices a flipped in a landscape mode.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max also introduced the A17 Pro chip including a breakthrough new GPU. This is the industry's first 3nm chip with 19 billion transistors. It has a 6-core CPU with 2 performance cores that are 10% faster. The efficiency cores are four and a 3x faster than those of the competition. Teh 16-core Neural Engine is now 2x faster enabling 35 trillion operations per second. The chipset uses machine learning on device. A Pro Display Engine, ProRes codec, and dedicated AV1 decoder are also a part of the chip's architecture. There's a new USB 3 controller for faster connectivity. The brand-new GPU features Apple-designed architecture. it has a 6-core design enabling a 20% increase in speed improving energy efficiency. It also enables the fastest ray tracing on a smartphone.

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max also offer an improved camera system. The main camera features a 7-element lens with an f/.178 aperture and a 48MP sensor with second-generation Sensor-shift OIS. it can shoot photos in 24 mm, 28 mm, and 35 mm focal lengths. The new Portrait mode available on the non-Pro devices is available on the Pro and Pro Max as well powered by the Photonic Engine. There's also a 12MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, an f/2.8 aperture, and a 77 mm focal length equivalent. It is optically stabilized by using a three-way OIS providing 10,000 micro adjustments per second. Finally, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have a 12MP ultra-wide camera with macro mode, an f/2.2 aperture, 13 mm focal length, and 100% Focus Pixels.

The iPhone 15 Pro lineup offers convenient new ways to charge, find friends in busy places, and stay connected while traveling. Both models use the USB‑C connector and the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, enabling two iPhone devices with this chip to connect at three times the range as before. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max now support Wi-Fi 6E for greater wireless performance, including up to 2x faster speeds, and introduces the first Thread-enabled smartphones, opening up future opportunities for Home app integrations.

iPhone 15 Pro with 128GB starts at USD 999 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max with 256GB starts at 1199. Pre-orders open on September 15.
