The husband of a missing mother-of-three was a 'long-term patient' at a psychiatric center and had been diagnosed as a 'sociopath', his father's friend has claimed.
Brian Walshe, 46, had been at Austin Riggs Psychiatric Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, before being let out a few years ago, Jeffrey Ornstein alleged.
Ornstein, who was friends with Walshe's neurologist father Dr Thomas Walshe for 35 years, aired the claims in an explosive 2019 affidavit.
He also argued Walshe and the rest of his family had been estranged after he was accused of stealing millions of dollars from Dr Thomas's estate after he died.
It comes as the search for his missing wife Ana, 39, enters its 11th day after she vanished from their home in Cohasset early on New Year's Day.
Cops have recovered a hack saw, a hatchet, a rug and found blood at a waste disposal site near her husband's mother's house.
On Monday Walshe pleaded not guilty to misleading investigators in the hunt for her but remained in jail on $500,000 bail.

Walshe's cousin and two close friends of his father aired the accusations against him in the scathing 2019 court documents following the death of his dad in 2018.
Ornstein said he had known Walshe since he was 13 but claimed the father and son had been estranged since 2009.
He claimed when Walshe was released from Austin Riggs after around 12 years without contact his father turned him down.
Orenstein quoted Dr Thomas as saying: 'You're my son and I will always hope for the best for you, but I do not want to re-engage.
'If I did, I know that I would be letting mayhem back into my life, and I can't have that.'
The documents claim Walshe tried to manipulate his father out of cash after he suffered a stroke.
