Alessia Russo endeared herself to fans by taking a look at a note brought on by a German substitute during the Euro 2022 final.
It came in extra time, just after Chloe Kelly had scored what would turn out to be the winning goal.
Sara Doorsoun-Khajeh was the German sub given instructions by Martina Voss-Tecklenburg as the visitors chased a late equaliser, and Russo appeared to be a cheeky glance.
Russo was already a popular member of the England squad after scoring a spectacular backheel earlier in the tournament.
She was a key figure in the final as England beat Germany 2-1 after extra time.
Fans tweeted their appreciation, for Russo's gag, with one tweeting, 'Russo taking a look at the Germany notes. Love it.'
Others called it 'peak comedy' and said they 'hope she understands German!'
Kelly's winner came after Ella Toone's delicate chip was cancelled out by a goal from Lina Magull.
It was Germany's first loss in a women's Euros final after eight wins.
