“Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Larry David was seen attacking Elmo during an episode of the “Today” show on Thursday, according to USA Today.

Elmo was brought into the show as a guest following a viral tweet earlier this week.

On Monday, the “Sesame Street” character’s X account wrote, “Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?”

The post garnered well over 200 million views and thousands of responses, leading the “Today” show to bring Elmo — and his father, Louie — in to discuss the viral tweet.

However, as the hosts tossed over to Al Roker for the weather, David went behind the couch and latched onto Elmo, squeezing his face before walking away.

“Mr. Larry, Elmo liked you before!” Elmo was heard shouting at David as he wandered off.

“Ask permission before you touch people, Larry,” Louie added.

Louie threatened to sue David for assault, and the hosts berated David, who said, “Somebody had to do it.”

The hosts eventually pushed David to apologize, and Elmo told him he accepted.
