EastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Ashley and Ashley Outlet of Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.
Today we are honoring a woman who is turning 100 years old next week! Her name is Dollie and she’s a musical genius! We received a few emails about her. Here’s what one says:
Dollie is a resident at Morningstar Senior Living. In fact, she has been a resident since the facility first opened. Dollie will be turning 100 years old on Feb. 11. She is a remarkable person, especially with her music. Dollie has been involved with the Idaho Falls music community for many, many years. She was a member and director of Choralaires. She has played piano or organ for literally hundreds of funerals all over Eastern Idaho. She has taught many piano students. At the current time, she is serving as the pianist for our weekly Sacrament Meetings. She plans and performs in several concerts each year for Morningstar residents. She also conducts and plays for a weekly sing-along for Morningstar residents. When you listen to her play, you’d never guess she is as old as she is! She is an inspiration for living well in the golden years.
We met Dollie two years ago and she played us a song. Now we are surprising her for her 100th birthday! Check out the video in the player above.
