At least 46 people have been killed in wildfires ravaging central and southern Chile, President Gabriel Boric said Saturday, warning the toll was likely to rise as the flames continued to spread.
"There are 40 people who were killed in the fire, and another six (who died) as a result of burns," Boric said, after surveying the affected region via helicopter.
"We know that these (numbers) will increase," he added.
