Shooting happened at Andy Romano Beachfront Park

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – A person was taken to the hospital after being shot at by police at a park in Ormond Beach, according to investigators.

In a release, city officials said the shooting happened at Andy Romano Beachfront Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said two officers were dealing with a person when at least one of the officers opened fire. The person was taken to the hospital, but officers did not say how much they were hurt or what prompted the shooting.

The city said there is no threat to the community, but residents are still urged to stay away from the area as law enforcement investigates.
