About 1,500 Berkeley customers briefly lost power Thursday morning and afternoon, according to Pacific Gas and Electric Co.
The unplanned outage started at 10:55 a.m., with power restored at approximately 12:20 p.m.
The outage area encompassed UC Berkeley campus, parts of the Southside neighborhood, and parts of the Berkeley Hills, including the Berkeley Lab and Lawrence Hall of Science, according to PG&E’s online outage map.
The outage’s cause was under investigation, PG&E spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian wrote in an email.
UC Berkeley spokesperson Dan Moguluf said he is not aware of any impact on the UC Berkeley campus, but added that classes are not yet in session.
