There has been an outpouring of grief following the sudden death of West Belfast woman Fionnuala Walsh as a heartbroken community pays tribute to a "beautiful life gone too soon".
Fionnuala Walsh died suddenly at her home on Monday, April 7, breaking the hearts of her family and friends, and bringing much sadness to her local community with many taking to social media to express their devastation at her loss.
The beloved daughter of Gerard and Angela Walsh, and sister to Roísin, Brónagh and Antrim GAA player Gerard óg, Fionnuala has been described as a "friend to many" who was a bright light in her community.

A post from Mallon Brothers Funeral Directors said: "Walsh Fionnuala, died suddenly at home 7th April 2025. Beloved daughter of Gerard and Angela, a dearly loved sister to Roísin, Brónagh and Gerard óg. Loving aunt to Cónán pól and Iarlaith, sister in law of Gerard and Seanna-Lee, Granddaughter of John and friend to many. R.I.P. Funeral Arrangements later. St Pio Pray for her. Deeply regretted by her loving family circle."
St James' Community Farm paid tribute to Fionnuala saying: "Devastating news from Greater St James's area on the passing of Fionnuala Walsh. Thinking of our Friends Angela, Bow, Roisin, Bronagh, Gerard and wider Walsh family who have always been there to help the farm.
"A very bright light has gone out in our community today. Rest In Peace Finest."
Hundreds of tributes have been made online to Fionnuala, with her being described as a "beautiful girl inside and out" with her passing being a huge loss to all who knew her.
One person said: "Absolutely devastated for Angela Walsh, Gerard, Róisín White Brónagh Ní Breathnach and Gerard. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
"Such a beautiful girl, inside and out. Rest in perfect peace Fionnuala."
Another said: "Rest in peace gorgeous girl, thinking off all your family and all your close friends."
One family member paid tribute on social media saying: "Our beautiful Fionnuala.
"Thinking of all our family at this heartbreaking time there are just no words, beautiful inside and out! Please give your wee mummy & daddy, sisters and brother the strength to get through this devastating time."
