Monday's edition of Loose Women featured a special appearance from Waterloo Road's Hattie Dynevor.
Hattie, 21, plays the role of Libby Guthrie in the BBC's beloved high school drama. During her visit to the ITV panel show, conversation naturally flowed onto her various connections with Coronation Street.
Sally Dynevor, known for portraying Sally Metcalfe on the iconic cobbles, and Emmerdale scriptwriter Tim Dynevor, are proud parents to Hattie. But her links to British soaps extend even further back.
While on Loose Women, panellist Sue Cleaver — who viewers will recognise as Eileen Grimshaw from Corrie — remarked: "Not only did you grow up with Corrie, if I get this right, your grandfather was a director on Corrie, your grandmother acted in Corrie and was also a floor manager and then your mum!"
Hattie acknowledged this, saying, "Yeah, my grandma and grandpa met on Corrie!" which prompted Sue to probe further: "Didn't your mum and dad meet on Corrie?" to which Hattie affirmed, "Yeah through my grandma!", reports the Mirror.
She elaborated on her grandma's connection to the cobbles, sharing: "My grandma was like a runner, a floor runner, then she met my grandpa and then my mum met my dad through my grandma."
Recalling a family tale she added, "She had invited her over for dinner. She was like you have to meet Tim and they all had a dinner party, that's how they met!".
Hattie's father, Tim, is the son of Shirley and Gerard Dynevor. Shirley worked as a stage manager on Coronation Street, as well as acting in other TV shows, while Gerard directed Coronation Street in the 1960s.
When quizzed about the possibility of stepping onto the cobbles of Coronation Street herself, given her family's strong connections to the show, Hattie expressed openness to the idea: "I would never rule it out! But I'm just focusing on Waterloo Road at the moment!".
Hattie is not alone in her acting pursuits within her family. Her elder sister, Phoebe Dynevor, catapulted to stardom with her portrayal of Daphne in the smash-hit Netflix series Bridgerton in 2020.
Phoebe, aged 29, also embarked on her acting journey with Waterloo Road, where she played Siobhan Mailey between 2009 and 2010.
It comes as Corrie icon Sally Dynevor shared her immense pride over daughter Hattie securing a part in Waterloo Road.
In a heartfelt Instagram post in 2023, Sally celebrated the achievement, posting: "So proud of you @hattiedynevorr joining @waterlooroad playing Libby Guthrie. Such a fabulous cast and crew. @revolutiontalent_" accompanied by a heart emoji.
Loose Women continues on weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITV X.
