Live as emergency services attend collision between car and pedestrian in South Belfast

The emergency services are currently in attendance following a collision between a car and a pedestrian in South Belfast.

The incident has taken place on Carmel Street, in the Holyland area of the city with the police and ambulance service being called to the scene.

The collision is believe to have taken place shortly after 5.30pm.

It has been alleged that a child may have been involved in the collision online, however this is yet to be confirmed.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision involving a car and pedestrian in the Carmel Street area of south Belfast. There are no further details at this stage."
