Monoclonal antibodies, or mAbs, are important tools in medicine. These laboratory-made proteins are widely used in treatments for diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's disease, autoimmune disorders and infectious diseases. Recent research from the Florida State University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry shows that a particular type of monoclonal antibody known as NISTmAb retains its structure even if the sugar molecules attached to it are changed.
