Emmerdale spoilers confirm aftermath of icon's return to the village - and it's bad news

2 days ago 174

Emmerdale fans were treated to Joe Tate's (Ned Porteus) comeback on Friday evening (April 11), setting the stage for a week filled with drama.

Joe, first introduced in 1995 as the offspring of Chris Tate (Peter Amory) and Rachel Hughes (Glenda McKay), exited the Dales in 2018. However, he made an unexpected return at Christmas, later revealing his need for a kidney transplant.

In a desperate move, Joe enlisted Dr. Crowley's (James Hillier) help to carry out an unlawful organ transplant from his half-brother Noah Dingle (Jack Downham). When their plan fell through, they targeted Joe's half-uncle Caleb Milligan (William Ash).

In chilling scenes, Caleb was stabbed before Dr Crowley harvested his kidney for Joe.

Caleb is set to grow suspicious of Joe Tate in next week's Emmerdale

While Caleb recuperated in hospital, Joe vanished from the village to recover from the major surgery. But upcoming scenes suggest that Joe's actions haven't gone unnoticed, reports Leeds Live.

Next week, viewers will see Joe attempting to rekindle his romance with Dawn Fletcher (Oliva Bromley), following their secret affair at Home Farm.

Joe implores Dawn to confess her lingering feelings for him, but she is taken aback by the sincerity of his plea.

As Joe pleads with Dawn to leave Billy (Jay Kontzle) for him, will she shatter her husband's heart and disrupt their young family?

However, Joe may have more pressing concerns when Caleb begins to suspect his recent activities.

Caleb soon realises that he needs to keep his enemies close, and he invites Joe and Noah over for lunch, hoping he will let his guard down.

Later in the week, Caleb remains suspicious about Joe and puts a plan into action. While at the depot, he tears down a light fixture in the office, desperate to get electrician Noah alone.

Caleb takes the opportunity to quiz Noah over Joe, but how much will Noah reveal?

As fans of the soap will know, after being spiked by Joe, Noah recalled a hazy flashback where he was lying on a hospital bed where he saw his brother's face peering over him.

Caleb's detective work continues, and he investigates his suspicions about Joe, but what will he uncover?

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV and ITVX
