EastEnders viewers are convinced that the legendary Branning family is making a shock comeback to Walford following Lauren's engagement to Peter Beale.
Earlier this week, Peter (Thomas Law) was determined to express his love for his girlfriend Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and proposed marriage.
However, Lauren declined her boyfriend's life-changing offer, leaving Peter puzzled and upset. She later revealed her refusal was due to her lingering fear that she had assaulted Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) on Christmas Day.
After overhearing Lauren confessing her unclear memories of that night, Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) could no longer withhold the truth about Cindy's vicious attack. Subsequently, Kathy confided in Lauren that she was the one who attacked Cindy.
During Wednesday's episode (2nd April), Lauren pondered over the recent events and upon finding the engagement ring Peter proposed with, she realised she should have accepted, reports Plymouth Live.
She found Peter in the Square, who assured her that while his family symbolises his past, she embodies his future.
This reassurance pleased Lauren, leading her to propose to Peter amidst a gathering crowd. He joyfully accepted, and the couple finally celebrated their engagement.
EastEnders fans were thrilled by the development and predicted Lauren's younger brother, Oscar, would return to Walford for her wedding day, along with their parents Max (Jake Wood) and their mum Tanya (Jo Joyner)
Oscar, the youngest offspring of Max and Tanya Branning, was born in December 2007, which means he is now 17 years old.
Charlee Hall's character, Oscar, was last spotted in Albert Square back in June 2017 when Jack Branning, played by Scott Maslan, set up a Father’s Day visit to see Max (portrayed by Jake Wood).
EastEnders enthusiasts on Reddit have swiftly kickstarted speculation that past characters could make comebacks for Lauren and Peter's impending nuptials.
One avid viewer remarked: "Lauren and Peter are getting married! They have the potential to have one of the best weddings in EastEnders history considering how many characters could potentially return."
They elaborated: "Who I personally want to return (I have high expectations) I'd love for Max to return, I know Jake Wood doesn't want to permanently return but I definitely think he'd make a special appearance considering the circumstances."
Another chimed in with their own wish list: "I want Oscar to come back so he can meet Lily. Then in a few years time he'll come back permanent and they'll get together. Just for the Slater/Branning lols."
A third fan contributed: "Oscar Branning should be 18 now and all they need to do is find an actor for him, no excuses for him not being there. Hopefully Tanya goes with him, even if it's only for a short stint.
"Characters that I think will come back permanently/temporarily: Oscar Branning (recast), Max Branning, Tanya Branning, Rainie and Stuart, Cindy JR (recast) and Bobby," another speculated.
