Students of the Jaffna University have decided to boycott classes until October 25. Sources from Jaffna said that the students decision to refrain from attending classes based on the meeting they had with President Maithripala Sirisena on Thursday (19) regarding the plight of detainees arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA). Accordingly, the President had assured that he would make a statement on the issue on October 25. Sources added that the students had therefore decided to boycott classes until the President makes a statement on the issue.
