Uditha Devapriya was rewarded at the annual MASSCO Excellence in Journalism Awards. This is particularly for his efforts of spreading values of Sinhala art and culture among English readers both local and abroad and the award ceremony was held at Hotel Ramada with Speaker Karu Jayasuriya attending as the chief guest.
Uditha Devapriya is a freelance writer who contributes to several newspapers, magazines, and other publications in Sri Lanka. He was educated at Lyceum International School, Nugegoda until his A Levels in 2011.
His articles, most of which continue to be on the arts and society, can be perused at his blog: fragmenteyes.blogspot.com. Uditha firmly believes that cultural criticism is severely lacking in Sri Lanka, particularly in the English media. From 2014, he has thus made it his goal to try to fill this gap. He sincerely hopes that his portfolio has been enough for him to claim that he has at least partly succeeded in his enterprise.
