Fast bowling coach of the Sri Lankan cricket team, Champaka Ramanayake resigned from his position on Friday. Former fast bowler of the national team, Chaminda Vaas has been appointed as the team’s new coach following the resignation.

The resignation comes days before the first test match between Sri Lanka and the visiting Indian team which is scheduled to start on July 26.Earlier, Sri Lanka’s former captain, Angelo Mathews resigned from captaincy of all three formats following Sri Lanka’s defeat in the recent ODI series against Zimbabwe.
