Sri Lanka beat Zimbabwe by 4 wickets in the only test match played at the R. Premadasa Stadium a short while ago.

Needing a massive 388 runs in their second innings reached the target with four wickets remaining thanks to half centuries from Kusal Mendis (66), Niroshan Dickwella (81) and Asela Gunaratne (80 n.o).

This is the highest target chased by Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe in their first innings scored 356 while Sri Lanka managed to score 346.

Zimbabwe who were tottering at 5 for 59 reached 377 thanks to Sikandar Raza’s gritty 127, supported by PJ Moor (40), MN Waller (68), and AG Cremer (48).

Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath was the pick of the bowlers bagging 11 wickets in both innings.

This is the first win for Sri Lanka after Dinesh Chandimal took over as captain.
