Northern Province Chief Minister, C.V. Wigneswaran has denied reports of a rift within the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) following tensed situations in the council the previous week.
Accordingly, the Chief Minister is to meet Leader of the Ilankai Thamiz Arasu Katchi (ITAK), Mavai Senathirajah on Saturday (24) in Jaffna to discuss the future course of the party and the NPC.

He added that the people need not be worried about the developments the previous week, adding that they were being solved.

“No. There is no split. We have come up more strong. Our people are backing us 100%,” he told the Nation regarding the issue.

When contacted, Senathirajah said that the Chief Minister had requested for a meeting with him. “Yes, he had sent a message requesting for a meeting with me. I will be meeting him during the weekend,” Senathirajah said.
