Former cricketer and World Record holder for the Highest Test wickets, Muttiah Muralitharan became the first Sri Lankan to be inducted into the ICC Hall Fame.
Murali, as he is fondly known, was inducted into the Hall of Fame on Thursday (8).

He has captured 800 wickets in 133 test matches while he has also bagged 534 scalps in 350 One Day Internationals.

Murali’s bowling action came under scrutiny after he was no-balled by umpires Darrel Harper and Ross Emerson in the mid and late 1990’s.

However, Murali was cleared after several medical examinations which revealed that his bowling action was due to a natural deformity in his arm.
