A former president of the football federation has started his campaign from the North-East.

Thereafter, they have visited the leagues of Puttalam, Vavuniya, Mannar, Kilinochchi, Mullaithivu, Jaffna, Valikamam, Vadmarachchi, and Point Pedro but only the Valikamam league has agreed to support him.

Failing the northern operation, he began the second leg of his campaign in the East. But the Trincomalee league has agreed to support the vice president hopeful, a retired police officer, but not the president hopeful.

Failing all attempts, he engaged the secretary of the federation get the support of the North-East. The secretary had a humiliating defeat at the recently held Colombo district league election and wants to win the favour of the present president hopeful who was not on good terms with the latter in the past.

As an attempt to gain support for the former president this secretary visited Anuradhapura and called the league presidents of Northern area. But the news in the air is that he was also could not enlist their support in response. Hence, it was also a flop.
The Football Federation is said to be a serpent pit, but many are curious why people are scrambling to get into the federation.
