President Maithripala Sirisena has advised Health authorities to take steps to provide all State and Governmental hospitals with generators soon.
The funds for the purpose have been placed at the disposal of the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, Minister of Disaster Management Anura Priyadharshana Yapa said that the Japanese Government had agreed to provide Sri Lanka with new technical equipment which would allow Sri Lanka to access Japanese satellites, which would in turn help the Department of Meteorology to issue more accurate weather related predictions and reports.
