As the high profile inter-school League rugby championship draws to a close no clear winner is in sight thanks to some upsets that took place.
Trinity College were touted as the potential favourite but their unexpected loss to St. Peter’s College nudged Isipathana to stake their claims and the two teams will meet in a crucial match at Pallekele in Kandy on Saturday.
Two other schools, Wesley College and Royal College believe they have an outside chance to bag the title and will lock horns in a match at the Royal Sports Complex ground on Saturday.
The rest of the four teams in the Cup championship fray, St. Joseph’s College, St. Peter’s College, S. Thomas’ College and Zahira College have only some pride to play for.
While the Peterites will meet Zahira on Saturday at Maradana, the Thomians host the Joes at Havelock Park on the same day.
