Sri Lanka Cricket commissioned what it said was a six-strip, state-of-the-art indoor bowling facility at the Pallakelle International Cricket Stadium to coincide with the start of a six-day high intensity training and conditioning programme for the team ahead of the Champions Trophy in June.

Newly installed floodlights of the side-wickets, were also inaugurated on May 9.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said the completion of the indoor nets together with the floodlighting of the side-wickets marked the completion of the first phase of its ambitious plans to establish four Provincial Centres of Excellence across the country to cater to cricket from the grass root level onwards.
