Sri Lanka Cricket has decided to extend the services of Aruna de Silva as Operations Manager for the forthcoming tours of Zimbabwe and India saying it was impressed with his performance during the Youth Asia Cup in 2016 and the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers 2017 as host Tournament Director.

“Aruna de Silva was invited by the Executive Committee at a meeting held on April 22, 2017 to take on this role in order to bridge the gap in the administrative and operational arm of SLC”, a statement issued by SLC said.

The statement said De Silva resigned his post as a member of the Executive Committee of SLC to focus on his new role while Priyantha Zoysa was appointed to the Committee in his place.

“De Silva is an experienced administrator with over two decades of senior management experience in logistics and operations and was highly commended by both the Asian Cricket Council and the International Cricket Council for his role in the successful hosting of the two International events in Colombo over the past six months”, SLC’s statement further added.

Zimbabwe is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in July for a solitary Test and five ODIs followed by India arriving in August to play three Tests, five ODIs and two T20s.
