BBC TopGear Sri Lanka held the official launch of its monthly magazine recently. The premier car culture magazine presents the very best stories about the world’s most important cars. In a ddition  to content from the UK, the   magazine  will focus on Sri Lanka’s vibrant motoring and racing culture; local content will comprise stunning photographs; honest, no-holds-barred reviews of new cars available in Sri Lanka; and forward-thinking features– inspiring and taking the reader on a journey. It also contains a comprehensive guide on automotive data, which will help the reader make an informed decision about new car purchases.

Speaking at the event, the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Vishva Ahangama said, “The TopGear brand has always been more than just about cars or a buyer’s guide for new vehicles. It has always encouraged a sense of ambition and adventure, of pushing limits and making friendships, which makes it unique. It presents great stories with a heavy dose of humour.” A dedicated editorial and design team is responsible for creating engaging local content.

Capital Media, publisher of Echelon business magazine,, Cosmopolitan Sri Lanka and now BBC TopGear Sri Lanka, celebrated the event with a launch party at the Taj Samudra Hotel, which was attended by serious petrol heads, leading car and bike racers, and automotive industry personnel. The venue was converted to a set-up resembling the TopGear studio, which fans of the TV show are familiar with, thus giving guests a true flavour of the brand.  The guests had a chance to meet like-minded car enthusiasts and mingle with local racing heroes. They also got the opportunity to have a closer look at some high-end sports and luxury cars available in the country, while being entertained by live music.
