Thurstan College have done well this season to qualify for the Bowl Championship Trophy of the Singer Inter-school League Rugby Tournament. In the league stage of the tournament, Thurstan contested the 1 B2 Group. Their best performances came against Lalith Athulathmudali MV and Mahanama College whom they beat 29-14 and 17-16 respectively. Both matches were played at the Thurstan College rugby grounds in Bullers Lane.
