With the upcoming meeting of the US and Chinese Presidents this week in Florida, political analysts have predicted that the outcome would have an impact on the Asian region including Sri Lanka.
US President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Thursday (6).

Trump in his official Twitter handle last week said the meeting would be ‘very difficult’ adding that jobs and trade were likely to dominate the discussions.

The discussions would also focus on the common issues faced by both nations including the threat imposed by North Korea, and the geo politics of the Asian region.

Analysts therefore pointed out that the outcome of the meeting would have an impact on the country, adding that since the US was open to meet with China, Sri Lanka too should be accommodative of China’s involvement in the development of the country’s economy.
