The year’s another exciting motor racing event, ‘Vijayabahu Supercross – 2017’; organized by the Sri Lanka Army Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) will take place on April 2 for the 15 consecutive year  at Boyagane in Kurunegala.

Over 100 competitors, including several foreign riders, are expected to compete in the event, said Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Colonel of the Regiment VIR during a press briefing held in Colombo on Friday (17).

Funds generated through the event are used for welfare projects of the Vijabahu Infantry Regiment as well as the families of fallen War Heroes and differently-able war heroes. A certain share of the income is also used for enhancement of welfare projects of serving Army personnel of the VIR, the media personnel were told.

CEAT Kelani International Tyre (Pvt.) Ltd has joined hands with ‘Vijayabahu Supercross – 2017’ as the main sponsor while Singer Sri Lanka, Browns & Company PLC and Elephant House have also contributed to the mammoth event as special sponsors.
