D. Dalmasso of France who beat Sri Lanka’s G.Dissanayake display the spirit of camaraderie after the former won the contest 6/1, 3/6, 11/9 at the ‘Negombo Open’ of the Wheelchair Future Series which concluded at the Negombo Tennis Club courts in Negombo.

Entertaining tennis was witnessed at the ‘Negombo Open’ of the Wheelchair Future Series which concluded on February 16 (Thursday) at the Negombo Tennis Club courts in Negombo.

Disabled tennis players from countries like France, Spain, Malaysia, South Africa, Thailand, Switzerland and Sri Lanka contested the tournament. As many as US $ 3000 worth prizes were distributed among the winners. It was interesting to see 16 disabled male soldiers representing Sri Lanka at the tournament. The tournament was conducted under the supervision of Sri Lanka Tennis Association President Iqbal Bin Issack.  Sri Lanka was coached by Aod Zwan of Holand. The Sri Lanka team was also supported in coaching by Jayendra Wijesekara and Jagath Welikala. The Referee of the tournament was Dinusha Wijesuriya. Jagath Welikala was the Tournament Director.
