Annual Prize Giving of Trinity College took place on Thursday February 2 where a distinguished Royalist, the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Minister Kabir Hashim, an old boy of Trinity College were the guests of honour.  Prize giving at Trinity College is an annual event, in which Trinitians  celebrate  all the achievements  they have  made in the last year. Students from every discipline whether it be sport, arts, academics, or community service, once they have excelled they  are  acknowledged.  So, at this prize giving, the highest award the “Ryde Gold” medal was pocketed by HMTDB Pitawela , a fine at  athlete   and one time cricketer. This medal is the highest honour that the School can bestow. It is awarded on the result of a secret ballot conducted among the senior boys (Grade 11-14) and the staff whose votes, together with that of the principal.
