On Tuesday, the biological mother of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s adopted daughter Zahara vocalized her interest in becoming reconnected with her flesh-and-blood. Angie initially adopted the Ethiopian-born child as a single parent in July 2005 and, at the time, it was believed that Zahara’s birth mother, named Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, had died. By 2006, the Fight Club actor had also legally adopted the little girl. However, in 2007, Mentewab came forward and revealed she wasn’t dead. Sadly, it was too late for her to regain custody of her child as the adoption was ‘legal and irrevocable’. Nonetheless, as Brangelina’s messy divorce and custody battle have made headlines across the globe, Mentewab is eager to reconnect with Zahara.
During a candid chat with Daily Mail, the famous 12-year-old’s biological parent begged: “Please just let me talk to my daughter…I just want her to know that I am alive and here and long to be able to speak with her. I do not want my daughter back but just to be in contact with her and be able to call her up and talk with her. Perez Hilton
Game of Thrones
Which dead character may make a shocking return?
For those Game of Thrones fans who had been seeking vengeance for the Red Wedding for years now, the death of the villainous Walder Frey (David Bradley) in the Season 6 finale was a completely cathartic experience. But, as we have learned from the epic HBO series, dead isn’t always dead. That’s right, David is supposed to be making an appearance in Season 7 of the show, according to an official agency resume.
When Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) slit Walder’s throat after serving him his sons in a pie, we were totally sure that was it for him. But that death may be exactly how Walder comes back. Hold, on stay with us. Arya might be pulling a little Faceless Men skills and placing Walder’s skin on her own in order to kill more of his sons. Gross? Yes.
That doesn’t seem like a far-fetched idea based on how excited Maisie seems to be for the upcoming season, given that she is already teasing the finale! “It’s so exciting…it’s just a great finale, it makes me excited for the series after,” Maisie said on The Radio 1 Breakfast Show With Nick Grimshaw on January 17. “People should be very, very excited.” But it looks like we will have to wait till mid-2017 to see how Walter really comes back to the show.
Pakistani pop star Atif Aslam
stops concert to rescue a female fan getting harassed
The Pakistani singer paused his live performance in Karachi last week to stop a group of male audience members from harassing a female fan. Fans cheered as the 33-year-old stopped his band from playing to address the men in the front row before ‘rescuing’ the woman by taking her onstage and having his team escort her to another area in the venue.
The performer told the men to ‘act like a human being’, scolding: “Haven’t you seen a girl? Your mother or sister could be here as well.” Footage of the heroic moment circulated the web, where fans expressed their gratitude to the pop star on Twitter for cutting into the creep-fest.
Prince Harry and the hairy hero award goes to…
Prince Harry lifted the beard of a badass military hero to present him with a medal at the inaugural Endeavour Fund Awards. Neil Heritage is the happy, hirsute man who received the award at the ceremony in London last week. Neil lost both legs in a suicide bombing in Iraq, but didn’t let it stop him from rowing across the Atlantic, and nearly climbing the Matterhorn.
Prince William was also there to honour the late adventurer Henry Worsley. He and his bro spent the evening recognizing the achievements of many wounded or sick servicemen and women. As far as we can tell, though…only Harry grabbed a handful of beard hair at the event.
Missing what some have deemed ‘the biggest gig of his career’, Michael Buble, 41, is ditching his hosting job at the BRIT Awards on February 22 for a job he takes much more seriously — fatherhood. The talented crooner has reportedly dropped out of hosting the show in order to look after his sick three-year-old son Noah. Little Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer in November, and since has gone through chemotherapy treatments and an alleged surgery.
Apparently a replacement for the Canadian artist has not yet been chosen. And while a source for the publication admitted producers were excited to have Michael host, they totally understand his decision that family comes first. “It was a difficult call but Michael has decided to pull out of hosting the Brit Awards,” the insider stated. “Out of respect for Michael the producers gave him as much time as he needed to make the decision, which they completely understood.”
