A photo exhibition ‘Sense of Melbourne’ to mark Australian Day on January 26, will be held at the Lionel Wendt Art Centre on January 25 and 26. The exhibition which features 60 sceneries of Melbourne and suburbs will be opened by the Australian High Commissioner Bryce Hatchesson at 10.00 am on January 25.
The exhibition is organised by two veteran and famous photo journalists Sandun Gamage and Athula Ranaraja. This is the first time when photographs taken in Australia are displayed in Sri Lanka. The two veterans state that even though there was a professional and educational bond between the two countries, the cultural bond is too distant. This is an attempt to create that cultural bond artistically. The exhibition ‘Sense of Melbourne’ would be open from 11 am to 8 pm on January 25 and from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm on January 26.
