CCC School of Cricket, the leading cricket coaching school in the Island, which toured Hyderabad, India with their under 12, Under 13 and Under 15 teams, returned to the country after extremely successful tour-The best in the history of 20 tours abroad. The three teams played 27 games, in all, and lost only one game during the whole tour to record a 97.5% success.

The three teams were pitted against the famous St. John’s Coaching Foundation which caters for 500 young cricketers Foundation which has produced over dozen national cricketers includes VVS Lakshman, Mohamed Azaruddin, Venkatpahy Raju to name a few, is under the guidance of John Manoj, Secretary of Hyderabad Cricket Association.

All matches were played on turf and the final three matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium – Each team played nine matches each  30-over duration while U-12 and U-13 teams won all their matches, the U-15 team lost the solitary match by 4 wickets.

Grand awards presentation was held on the last day, organized by the St. John’s Sports Coaching Foundation with Nelson Mendis, Director of CCC School of Cricket and John Manoj President of St.John’s Sports Coaching Foundation as chief guests. Over 400 young boys and girls and parents were present to felicitate the award winners.

The following young cricketers from CCC School of Cricket won special awards for their individual performances and the three main championship trophies were received by the three captains of the three teams – Linal Subasinghe (U-12),   Hiran Jayasundera (U-13) , and Movin Subasinghe (U-15).

Best fielder – Nabil Abil Rajubdden
Best alrounder  – Saha Nahan Dabere
Most promising player – Pravan Williams

The three coaches who did a magnificent job in guiding the three teams were Manoj Millawithabachchi (U-15), Udara Maddumage (U-13) and Janith Dissanayake (U-12). Ravi Subasinghe as tour manager deserves a pat on his back for a job well completed.
